Accessorizing Your Trendy New Kitchen
If you are considering updating your kitchen, accessorizing your trendy new kitchen is the next step. Investing in new kitchen countertops and appliances is a big decision and even a bigger expense.
Don’t forget you may also need to update some of those decorative things you have on your countertops or hanging on your walls.
It’s like getting a new dress and wearing old shoes. Once your kitchen has a new personality – it wants and needs some new accessories. I know, you’re asking, “When does it stop?” New countertops, new sink, new faucet, new light fixtures, new paint, new appliances and now new accessories? Absolutely. Don’t make the mistake of doing everything but adding the accessories. It’s the last detail that oftentimes gets overlooked. Old, dated accessories will definitely diminish the big impact of the new kitchen. You’ll stand there and wonder why you’re not feeling the “wow factor.” It’s because you didn’t finish the job.
Shopping for accessories for your trendy new kitchen
Do yourself a favor and do a little shopping for your new kitchen. Look through some magazines or go on Pinterest to find some things that you like. I love stores like Home Goods or At Home for fun, hip décor pieces that’s inexpensive, colorful and substantial in size.
Or if you’re a lover of vintage style, do a little 1st Friday shopping and visit The West Bottoms for some unique, one-of-a-kind conversation starters. As the former owner of Louisburg Square Antiques and Tea Room, I’m all about living with vintage pieces that have a story. Mixing in some new pieces will add much needed color.
There are lots of stores to shop for finishing touches. Take some time and treat your trendy new kitchen to some new (or old) accessories. Your kitchen will love you for it.
After all, you wouldn’t wear a new dress with old shoes would you?
Don’t let your kitchen get by without adding the last finishing touches. It will make all the difference in the world. With the amount of time you’re spending in your trendy new kitchen, you’ll appreciate it even more.
