Disposing of Unwanted Medication in Overland Park
Saturday, September 26th is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The Overland Park Police Department and Drug Enforcement Administration are joining forces and providing the public with the opportunity to drop off prescription drugs at no cost to you. No questions asked.
Properly disposing of unwanted medication is the right thing to do versus putting them in the trash or flushing them down the toilet. Since the start of this free service in 2011, more than 7,300 pounds of medication has been turned in. Over two tons has been collected nationally.
Take advantage of this free service on September 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the following drop off locations in Overland Park:
- Myron E. Scafe Justice Center, 8500 Santa Fe Drive
- W. Jack Sanders Justice Center, 12400 Foster
- Price Chopper, 7000 W. 75th St.
- Price Chopper, 7418 W. 119th St.
- Price Chopper, 11700 W. 135th St.
- Price Chopper, 7201 W. 151st St.
- Hen House, 6900 W. 135th St.
Get busy and clean out those vanities and medicine cabinets and make it a point to drop off your unwanted medication next Saturday at a location convenient for you.
