Olathe Home Sellers Success Story
Last Friday I listed a townhouse for sale in Olathe. By 11:00, we had 6 showings scheduled. I mentioned to my sellers that we should get an offer by the time we had 10 showings. They were filled with anticipation. I asked them to plan on spending the day away from home on Friday but to stay by their cell phone to acknowledge and ok the showings.
It was a busy day for showings. By the end of the day I knew we would receive at least two offers if not more. That evening, I met my sellers at their house with my SOLD FAST sign in hand. They were excited to say the least. After reviewing all of the offers, we chose the one we thought was best for them.
I asked them for a testimonial about my services. Here’s what they had to say:

Then I asked them the same question I ask all of my sellers – did you really think you would sell your house within 8 hours of coming on the market? They both laughed. Marilyn thought it was possible but Keith was more doubtful. Funny, it’s always the men that don’t think it will happen.
I worked harder on this listing than most. I first talked to them the first part of April. They had a few changes to make to update and neutralize their home. They painted their kitchen, replaced some carpeting, and Marilyn and I went shopping for some new light fixtures and hardware for their cabinets. Marilyn and Keith are 83 years old. They have sold 11 houses in their lifetime and they told me this was their best home selling success ever. They also realized that the way they lived in their home and the way it was going to need to look to sell it were two very different ways. This was a complete staging makeover for me. I had sold their neighbor’s house a month earlier and Sheila told them to let me stage it and it would sell quickly. I brought in more than one load of accessories to spiff up their home.
People always tell me they like to see my before and after photos. Here’s a short little musical slideshow of a few of theirs. Looks like staging can and does make a difference! Plus their home sold for a lot more money than asking price! That’s a good thing!
What a sweet couple. They are moving on to the next phase of their lives. I was delighted I could contribute to their home selling success. It could have turned out so differently. I’m happy to have helped them by staging their home so it would sell fast!
