Overland Park Décor Trends: Pocket Doors
One of the biggest complaints I hear from home buyers when showing homes in Overland Park is the lack of privacy from the master bedroom into the master bath. Most couples do not want to be in the shower or the tub in clear view of anyone who might enter the master bedroom.
While there is not a simple fix, I’ve seen many homes where the homeowner has added a curtain to the huge opening into the master bath. Others may have added double doors, depending on the space available.
Builders have become more conscious of people’s needs and wants. I’m seeing more and more pocket doors in new construction homes in Overland Park. Pocket doors offer homeowners the option to slide the door to close it behind them, ensuring privacy.
If you are considering building a new home, be sure to ask whether a pocket door is a possibility for your master bath. For other significant tips for new home construction, I can save you time and money. While the subdivision agent is helpful, they are working for the seller and are not working in your best interest. Good news is they are willing to pay me to sell you one of their homes. Don’t go to a subdivision without your buyer’s agent in tow. It can be a costly consequence and without representation, you will have nobody negotiating on your behalf.
Buying a resale home can be tricky enough, new construction can be overwhelming. Call me at (913) 515-3250 and let’s talk about your home building goals before you venture out on your own.
