Real Estate Relocation: Easy with Keller Williams!

This is another real estate relocation home buyer success story. Jaime and Jana closed on their Olathe home last Thursday. They moved here with their two little girls to be closer to Jana’s family. Their Keller Williams Realtor who sold their home in Denver called me to interview me to see if I would be a good fit to work with them to find their new home.

I remember Joe calling me one Saturday morning. When I answered the phone, he introduced himself and asked me if Realtors in Kansas City didn’t answer their phones on Saturday. I laughed and told him it was pretty typical. He told me I wasn’t the first Realtor on his list of agents to call, but I was the winning one!

Keller Williams is world-wide and we don’t have a third party company controlling our agent-to-agent referrals. We can go online to the Keller Williams website and pull up a list of agents in any city where we have franchises. We negotiate our own referral fees as well. Easy!

From there, we can search for agents and choose ones based on whatever is on their profile. With 28 years of selling real estate, multiple Realtor designations after my name and expertise with home staging, that narrows the playing field a bit for me. Plus the fact that I typically answer my phone also works in my favor.

Joe had a number of questions for me to see if I passed his test of what he was looking for in an agent to work with his clients. He asked if I would be interested in the job and I was all in! Jaime and Jana were looking for a home in the area I typically work and were in a price range I sell on a regular basis.  I reached out to them that day, introduced myself and scheduled a time for us to meet. Three weeks later, they found the perfect house and closed on it last week. I also was in constant communication with Joe so he knew I was taking good care of his clients!

Real estate relocation to another state is easy when you’re working with a Keller Williams agent. I recently referred Ron and Nancy to a Keller Williams agent in Savannah, Georgia. They planned a short vacation and I found them the perfect agent. They found a house quickly and their agent in Savannah and I coordinated their closing here with their closing there.

Other recent sellers, Jerry and Gayle who sold their Olathe home, I referred to an agent in Texas. We were in constant communication to coordinate their two closings. I remember before I was with Keller Williams and was with the local company, we had to “turn in” clients to the corporate relocation department. They took their fair share of my commission for coordinating two agents and the agents did all the work. It was sad.

Keep in mind, if you are planning a move to another city and would like a referral to an agent there who will spend quality time with you, please let me know. It’s the best way to learn about the city, what houses are available and it saves you beau coo time and money. Real estate relocation can be easy or you can do it all yourself. Remember, the home seller is paying the commission so it costs you no more to work with an experienced agent. Call me at (913) 515-3250 or contact me here.
